Gambia’s parliamentary select committee on health has released a statement on Tuesday that Maiden Pharmaceuticals Ltd, an India-based company, was responsible for the deaths of over 70 children due to acute kidney injury. The select committee has called on the Gambian government to take legal action against the company for the lapses that caused the deaths of the children. This comes after months of investigation by the select committee into the deaths of over 70 children from acute kidney injury in recent years. The committee has asked the government to ensure that this incident is not repeated in the future and to take necessary action against the company.
