Morocco has reportedly taken an unprecedented move by providing military support to Ukraine. Nearly 20 T-72B tanks were delivered to the Ukrainian forces, making Morocco the first African country to send armored vehicles to the war-torn nation. The tanks were said to have been modernized by the Czech defense firm Excalibur Army before being sent to Ukraine. The tanks were spotted during a visit by Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala to the company’s facility in Sternberk. Morocco currently operates a fleet of more than 140 T-72 tanks, 130 T-72Bs, and 12 T-72BKs, which were acquired from Belarus in 1999 and 2000. This move is a significant step for Morocco in asserting its role as a key player in regional and global security.
